I never use cook books. I usually just eyeball everything. After creating it I go back and make it again and measure everything out.
Tonight I had the itch to make hummus. Not just any kind though. I LOVE cilantro and garlic so I figure, why not make hummus out of it.
Here is what I used:
- 2 cans of garbanzo beans
- 1/2 bunch of cilantro
- about 1 cub of olive oil
- 3 cloves of garlic (depending on how much you like garlic
- salt
- food processor or blender
- lemon juice (or 2 lemons)
♥STEPS TO YUMMY GOODNESS ♥
- Drain 1 can of garbanzo beans
- Remove stems from cilantro and toss in trash
- Add beans and cilantro into the food processor/blender
- Add about a quarter cup of the olive oil,1 clove of garlic, and lemon juice (i squeezed 1 lemon into it)
- Blend on the puree setting
- Add some more olive oil, 1 garlic clove, more lemon juice
- Add salt to taste
- Blend on the puree setting
- Repeat steps 5-8 until you get the texture you like.
*** You may not need all of the olive oil. It makes the texture creamy
*** Depending on your love for garlic, you can add more or add less
*** As I blended, I tasted it. Added the salt & lemon juice when needed.
This can be modified in many ways. You may create your own yummy recipes.
