Today we give thanks to all the Veterans out there!
Wikipedia describes Military Veteran as – a person who has served or is serving in the armed forces. Those veterans that have had direct exposure to acts of military conflict may also be referred to as war veterans (although not all military conflicts, or areas in which armed combat takes place, are necessarily referred to as “wars”). A military veteran may also be referred to as a warhorse.
I also would like to to add on to that definition- A Veteran to any one of us may be a mother, a father, an uncle, an aunt, a son, a daughter, a wife , or a husband. Those Veterans were there to serve our country and protect us. A lot of blood shed and a lot of lives were lost. Many are still in the service and continue to protect us every day.
My husband and family members have served in the service. I have many friends that served and are still serving for this country and for them and others I give thanks.
While many of us enjoy our day off, lets remember why and give thanks to those around us.
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”- John F. Kennedy
